Day 9

Okay, so I'm back! And no I did not give up! It's been a very long and busy week for me adjusting to my new job schedule. Although I haven't updated the blog often, I have been keeping up with all of my food logs and photos.

After waking and drinking my liter of water today, I immediately felt a bit better than I had been the past two days. My body still did not feel completely back on track yet, but I did manage to get up reasonably early and get out and about to have some fun today.

11:00AM
-Fruit-

2 lg. Orange        172 cal
1 sm. Apple          53 cal
1 md. Apple          95 cal
2 md. Banana     210 cal

             Total     530 cal

This morning, my taste buds were all over the place so I opted for a couple of each of these fruits. I squeezed some juice out of the oranges into a small glass and drank that before eating the rest of the fruit. Everything tasted fantastic. Great start!

1:15PM
-Snack-

1 Fruit and Nut Bar         241 cal
4 Dates                           88 cal
1 md. Banana (sliced)     105 cal

                         Total     434 cal

Not too much later, I was heading out the door and hungry again! I grabbed a few things to take with me and after finishing the fruit and nut bar seen above, I threw back a few dates and another banana.

2:00PM
-Exercise-
1.5 hours of skateboarding was really what I needed to refocus my body and get out of the strange unbalancing I had been feeling for the past few days. It's unfortunate that the winter season is upon us here, as if it were warmer, I'd be skateboarding much more often, getting the correct amount of exercise my body actually needs. Since I've been limited to indoors and the cold outdoors, I've definitely reduced my amount of exercise. I need to find some way to keep up with things for the winter season if I truly wish to add some weight while eating RAW.

4:30PM
-Snack-

1/2 Cup Grapes        50 cal
2 lg. Strawberries     12 cal

                   Total     62 cal

I wasn't too hungry here, so I just snacked on a few of the snacks I brought with me.

6:00PM
-Green Choco-Banana Smoothie w/cacao nibs-

5 md. Banana                 525 cal
3 Cups Mixed Greens       30 cal
1 1/2 Cups Water
1 Cup Ice
3 Cacao Powder               48 cal
2 1/2 Tbsp. Cacao Nibs     82 cal

                          Total     685 cal

After stopping by at a few stores to pick up some more foods, I headed back to my girlfriend, Kaiti's, house and threw together a nice cacao smoothie. It had been a while, so I was looking forward to this one... That's when I realized, I really hate unripe bananas, especially in smoothies. They seem to make the smoothie much too thick, and although I can stomach them when chewing them unripe, I really prefer when they are ripe enough that they are littered with brown freckles. That's when you know they are sweet and soft enough for blending. Regardless, this one made 1.25 liters which I finished in 45 minutes and the cacao did a decent job of masking the unripe banana flavor.

1 Cucumber         30 cal
6 Baby Carrots     24 cal
1 Stalk Celery        6 cal

                Total     60 cal

In addition to the smoothie, I was really hungry so I cut up a stalk of celery and one cucumber, eating them alongside a few baby carrots and the smoothie.

Oh by the way, this is just a little of what I bought.

That is over just over 180 bananas totaling over 80 lbs.! I was feeling generous and gave Kaiti almost 20 lbs. (50+) bananas.

10:00PM
-Snack-

2 sm. Red Banana     140 cal
1 1/2 sm. Apple         115 cal

                    Total     255 cal

I finished the day strong (and early) with a small snack before laying down to watch some TV with Kaiti. The red bananas seemed a bit more ripe than the first one I tried, but I honestly I have not been a big fan of these. I will find a place for them in order to finish the bunch though as I still have two more remaining.

Approximate Daily Totals

Carbs                    Fat                    Protein                    Total
486.3g                  24.3g                 38.4g                       549g

As for the numbers, today they seemed pretty good. The protein was up in percentage, and although it still needs to be higher, I feel it slowly will make it's way there.

I was in bed early tonight, most likely due to waking at a reasonable hour and getting some decent exercise. Overall a good day, and I feel like that little unbalancing act my body went through over the last few days has been mostly corrected. I look forward to tomorrow!

And that concludes Day 9!
