I have created this blog in order to record a 30 day RAW food trial through which I hope to share all the ups and downs associated with this type of eating lifestyle. I'm not typically the type of person to present myself socially, but due to how much of a difference live foods have made to my life since including them as a large part of my diet and how passionate I am about the health benefits associated with an all RAW vegan diet, I have decided that recording a daily food log as well as photographing everything I eat during the trial will help me through the undoubted struggles it entails.
Over the past few months, I've begun to dip into the realm of incorporating mostly live foods into my diet, a huge contrast from my former SAD (Standard American Diet) self. Thus far, after settling with a daily caloric intake percentage of about 66%-75% RAW food, I've noticed increased energy and a more upbeat personality about everything that interests me. Because of this awesome increase in vitality and general better feeling I've had about everything food, I am pursuing this full 30 days of only RAW vegan foods.
Starting tomorrow, December 6th, I will begin this journey, eating only 100% live foods. For those of you who do not know, 100% live foods are those provided directly from nature, mostly consisting of fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds, grains, and sprouts. These foods are without harmful additives and preservatives, and are to be eaten without the aid of cooking, which ultimately alters and changes the properties of the food as well as depletes many of the food's natural vitamins and minerals.
I welcome anyone even remotely interested in learning about this lifestyle to follow along on my journey. To accomplish this task that will indefinitely change who I am and my outlook on life, any and all support will be both inspiring and encouraging. I will also be creating a Tumblr and a Twitter to use as daily blogging sources, so anyone interested in staying up to date on how I'm doing can openly observe as I struggle and prosper over 30 days.
My goal here is not to suggest that this diet is the optimal diet for everyone (it may not even be the right one for me). But in order to discover whether or not it is, I feel 30 days of strict RAW vegan eating will be sufficient for my body to let me know. Regardless of whether or not I continue to eat only 100% live foods after the trial is up, I know that this will be both a learning and growing experience for my mind and body. Through this, I am ultimately looking to benefit my own health, but I also hope that my recordings can help inspire and motivate others who are looking to aid themselves through healthier eating.
If anyone is intrigued by this undertaking or has any questions, I welcome you to contact me before, during, and/or after my trial to discuss whatever it is you want. I know many probably wonder about the costs associated with a diet like this, and although I will be eating mostly organic greens and some fruits, you'd be surprised at how cost effective my daily eating will be. In an effort to provide some quality research and information about the RAW food lifestyle, and why it has had such an impact on my daily life, I will be posting details about my preparation thus far that will hopefully answer some of the questions you might have.
Believe me - I've been in your shoes and have put on a new pair! It's intimidating, but only through trial and error can you realize your body's needs and it's true potential!
